Week 1. Author: Angeli Ludovico The night before the first day of school, a little boy excitedly prepares his things with his father. Then, he starts to imagine all kinds of things that make him anxious about school and tells his father about them. The next morning, his anxiety continues as his parents take him to school. When they arrive in school, he sees many children playing. He goes to his classroom and is greeted by the friendly teacher. The other children begin to arrive and they all look friendly. This makes the boy feel better. He then sees a classmate who looks just as afraid as he was. He approached her and they become friends. The Kinder class begins - they sing songs, work on blocks, color some pictures and listen to stories. The little boy enjoyed his first day of school and begins to look forward to school everyday. 2017 by U.S.Agency for International Development (USAID) Produced for the Department of Education under the USAID Basa Pilipinas Activity Basa Pilipinas is USAID/Philippines’ flagship basic education activity in support of the Philippine Government’s early grade reading program.
